At least for me, the first two pages of non-stop punctuational illiteracy is more than enough. This deliberately unlettered repetition is killin [sic] me. I am dyin [sic] from readin [sic] this stuff, or tryin [sic] to, at any rate. If…

Thoroughly enjoyed this novel. Heard Timothy Olyphant's voice, of course, and all of the other wonderful actors. Like hanging out with friends. Didn't realize how true the voice was in the show until I read the book. Such spectacular…

Raylan Givens heads home to Harlan County, Kentucky to work on a series of cases linked to the drug dealing Crowe family. Elmore Leonard continues to weave interesting cases for the smooth, detached, and violent Marshal. A satisfying end…

Watched all the Justified DVDs and always curious about the book that bears the protagonist's name. While the opening chapter with character Layla (S.3 E.5 "Thick as Mud") was very familiar but not so much for the other major characters as…

Like Forest Gump, I may not be a smart man. I am not even bright enough to know what genre Elmore Leonard writes, but I personally consider it Hardcore Country Punk. In my estimation this genre covers some of my favorite topics like drugs,…

You can NEVER go wrong picking up an Elmore Leonard novel. At turns, hillarious, profane and gritty. Pick up any Elmore Leonard book today and get to know this icon.

Like a lot of readers, I picked this up because I'm a fan of the show "Justified," now in its fifth season. It was based on the story "Fire in the Hole," which appeared in the collection, "When the Women Come Out to Dance." Marshal Raylan…

Elmore has an attitude. It's not the plot so much that's interesting, but rather the atmosphere. Great read!

The three episodes are awkwardly meshed; they would've worked better as distinct short stories. The dialogues is snappy but the dialect gets annoying.

Effortlessly cool - this novel is nonchalant in its violence, quirky, engrossing. Elmore Leonard conjures up his lead character and his villains in so fresh a way, with speech patterns and minimal description, that you'd swear you'd known…

A great story by Mr. Leonard about Deputy Federal Marshal Raylan Gibbens and his return to West Virginia. Watch the series " Justified" and then read Mr. Leonards novels featuring this wonderful character. Or do it the other way around.

Sort of an odd format, looks like a novel but has 3 different plot sections that do not really interact. The Leonard dialog is here though, always worth the price of a page turn.

Great Book! If your looking for a book thats just like the TV show then this isn't for you. It has many similarities but Many differences. Either way if you like the show or you like the author Elmore then its a great read. I recommend it.…

Doesn't quite fit in with "Justified" continuity but more with the Raylan character from Leonard's prose. It's interesting where the plot diverts from the television continuity.

If you watch "Justified" this will be something of a jolt as characters and plot lines don't track with the show. Otherwise this is another fine Elmore Leonard read.

I just want to point out that the Character description in the Full Record is incorrect. Raylan Givens is indeed a Federal Marshal, but he's a male character. not female. He does, however, wear Stetsons.
