Add a CommentLovely story on Renaissance of forgotten technologies, new guilds, culture shock on the conservatives trying to stay in power, neutral AI & finally getting rid of the threads within period of time.
Colonists somewhat surprised original genetically modified dragons were puny even to the White Dragon from AI records.
I love the book, but this is awful.

Thread, a voracious space bourne organisms, has fallen on Pern for time immemorial. Now the dragonriders, with the help of the AVIS will solve the problem forever.
