It is the story of twelve-year-old Margaret Simon who is worried she'll never have anything to put in her bra, won't know how to kiss a boy when the time comes, and worst of all, will be the last in the PTS club to get her period. As if all that weren't enough, she's getting used to a new home and a new school. Her private talks with God are special to her, but is she supposed to be Jewish or Christian?

I've got 40 years and one Y chromosome too many to be the target audience for this book, but I still enjoyed it. Only listened to it as it was on a "greatest novels" list I'm working on. Cute story, definitely a product of the time when it was written (late 60's).

Cute book. A little outdated, but still a good book. Great for tween girls.

My favourite part was when she made new friends in a new city and my favourite character is Margret. The book talked about the tougher stages in life.
