The movie adaptation of hitchhiker’s guide to the galaxy in my mind is a sort of take it or leave it sort of movie. Some no doubt are let down by loss of some of the bits or entrees of the guide, and maybe the cast. Martin Freeman is far from the six foot Arthur we know from the book. Personal I liked it, admittedly it’s far from the greatest thing since slice bread, but I enjoyed. While I did miss some of the stuff that I remember from the serious it didn’t kill me so to speak. The fact that the ending is more up lifting than how the book series ended helped. I’m led to understand that most of the script for the movie was written by Adams himself including the new material and plot points. For those who have read the books I can only say that they should keep in mind that Adam’s had to turn his very funny novels that really just about an everyman drifting around the galaxy and make it to a movie with a plot and still keep the funny. For my money I think he did a good job of it.
