I did not expect to be entertained with this award winning film, however I did not expect to be so assaulted or wounded with the language. Give me 4 letter words over the big n - the worst word in any language. Definitely a perspective on the lives of millions of people almost living within touching range and one I struggle to understand despite my proximity. For me this was somewhat disappointing, slow, painful. The performance by Mahershala Ali was persuasive & fascinating. His absence in the 2nd stage was confusing, hardly any explanation, just gone. His character in Hidden Figures was a polar opposite. The female actors, Monae, was brief & Harris was excellent. The struggle of Chiron must be endured by countless young men, regardless of skin color. His abandonment & need for love was palpable.
